Description
Fern Bank is a cottage built around 1820 for the Marquis of Bath. It features a rubble exterior and a hipped slate roof with wide eaves and two end brick stacks. The architectural style is Gothick. The building has two storeys and two bays. On the first floor, there are Gothicised casements with pointed-arch heads and painted brick voussoirs, each with an emphasised key. The ground floor has a single French window on each side, also with pointed arch heads and painted brick voussoirs with emphasised keys. The central door opening has a pointed arch head and a ribbed and studded door, along with a later added rubble and glazed flat-roofed porch designed in a matching style, featuring paired half-glazed outer doors. To the left, there is a single-storey outshut with a hipped roof and 20th-century casements, and to the right, there is another single-storey outshut from the 20th century.
