Description

Yeowater House is a late 18th-century house located on the east side of Birch Hill, Cheddar. It is constructed of rendered material with a parapet featuring moulded stone coping and covered by a pantile roof, with brick stacks at each end. The building is two storeys high and has three bays; it features sash windows with glazing bars, although the ground floor central window has been blocked. A six-panelled door with a fanlight, featuring radiating glazing bars, is set within a stone doorcase, which incorporates an open pediment supported by Roman-Doric half-columns and adorned with a stall square section of triglyph entablature. The interior contains a staircase contemporary with the house’s construction.
