Description

Higher Farmhouse is a farmhouse, dated 1779 on the west gable, with 19th-century extensions built later in the early and late 1800s. It is constructed of cut and squared local stone, laid in courses, with dressings of Ham stone. The roof is covered with stone slates and has coped gables. The farmhouse is two storeys high with an attic, and originally had three bays. The central entrance features a six-panel door, with four glazed panels, set within an architrave and a beaded mullioned surround. There are three-light mullioned windows, with a two-light window above the door. The early 19th-century extension to the west has horizontal sliding sash windows.
