Description
The Hardwich monument is a chest tomb located about 8 meters south of the porch of the Church of St Lawrence. It is dated 1816 and commemorates John Hardwich. The tomb is made of dressed stone and features a moulded plinth, fluted corner pilasters, and a central pilaster on both the north and south sides. Between the pilasters are panels with inscriptions, which are now mostly decayed. The tomb also has an architrave and frieze, topped with a hipped slab that is moulded around the lower edge.
