Description

No. 24A, also known as Thursday Cottage, is a cottage situated between numbers 22 and 24 on Mill Street in Wincanton. It likely dates from the late 18th century and was originally built as part of the same construction as No. 24. The cottage is built from local stone rubble, which has been colourwashed, with a plain clay tile roof set over stone slate base courses and abutments. It features brick chimney stacks. The cottage is two storeys high and has two bays. It contains 12-pane sash windows in simple openings, and a 6-panel door leading into the second bay. The door is recessed and sheltered by a 20th-century pitched metal hood supported by wrought iron brackets. The interior of the cottage has not been inspected.
