Pair of cottages. Possibly of C16 origin, refronted c1800. Local stone rubble; plain clay tile roof with simple gable to West; brick chimney stacks. 2 storeys; No 17 of 2 bays, No 19 of 1-bay. No 17 has 2-light small pane casements above, and below a 12-pane sash window to bay 1, under a timber lintol; to bay 2 a 6-panel door, up 2-steps, with glazed toplights, set under pedimented timber hood on iron brackets. No 19 has a horizontal bar 2-light casement above, and below an angled bay window with small pane casements and lead covered hipped roof; to right a C20 door up 4 steps, under exposed timber lintol. Interior not seen, but it is reported that the dividing wall between the houses incorporates a jointed cruck, and traces of a wall plate carried on the back of the cruck blade with a curved angle brace between plate and cruck upright; i.e the front wall is an outer casing to a timber frame (VAG Report, Unpublished SRO, October 1975).
