Description
No 2 Market Place is a late medieval timber-framed building that has been roughcast, with some ashlar on the right side. It features a gabled front with two storeys plus an attic, plain bargeboards, and a pantile roof. The upper storeys are jettied over the ground floor. To the right, there is a corbel carved with a grotesque bust. The building has one window in the attic and two windows on the first floor, which are sash windows with some glazing bars. The ground floor has a modern shop front. This building is part of a pair with No 1 and, along with the Market Cross and No 2 Northload Street, contributes to a cohesive group in the area.
