Description

These stables, now converted into a dwelling, were built in 1890 and altered in the mid-20th century. They are constructed from yellow brick with Ham stone dressings and feature scalloped clay tiles. The building is designed in a U-plan Tudor style. The entrance front has one and a half storeys and includes a buttressed two-storey entrance tower with coped verges. There is one gabled dormer on the right and two on the left, along with mullioned and transomed windows. The ground floor windows are blocked under hood moulds, with three on the right and three on the left, and a door beneath a hood mould. The entrance features a pointed arch opening with a stepped brickwork surround, a double door with a wicket gate, a small window above, and a date plaque reading AD 1890. The returns of the building are also buttressed. The interior of the courtyard has been altered in the mid-20th century.
