House. Circa 1840. Probably by Richard Carver, for Sir John Slade. Roughcast, stone plinth, Ham stone dressings, slate roof, gable fronted, coped verges with kneelers, paired octagonal buff brick stacks on Ashlar plinth. Plan: main block left, recessed service wing right. Tudor style. Two and a half and 2 storeys, 3:3 bays. all window openings under square hoodmoulds with flat rusticated surrounds, windows left 2 and 3-light mullioned windows, ground floor 3-light mullioned and transomed windows flanking single storey castellated porch, depressed 4-centred arch moulded doorcase, decorative spandrels, panelled double doors, heraldic achievement above with motto 'Fidus et audax', side-lights, mullioned 4-light windows to recessed wing right. Long 1:3 bay garden front left return, full height canted bay. Interior not sighted. The house took its name from Montys Farm (not included) to the North. Richard Carver worked far, the Slade family at Maunsel, North Newton and is known to have been working at Monty's Court in 1844.
