Description
39 Butts Hill is a building that appears to date from around 1800, although it is shown on a map from 1770, indicating it has undergone alterations. It is said to retain some interior features from the early 18th century, although these could not be inspected. The building has three storeys and is constructed of coursed rubble. It has a pantile roof with stone chimneys. There are three windows in raised surrounds, featuring inner bead-mould and outer ovolo moulding. On the second floor, only two windows are glazing bar sashes; the rest have plate glass and are paired on the ground floor. The central door is topped with a bracketed flat hood, and there is a semi-circular stair projection at the rear.
