Description

Nos 1 to 14 form a terrace, with a warehouse attached at the north-west end, built in 1816 and 1816/17. The buildings are of three storeys, constructed of rubble with block dressings, and have slate roofs. Most properties have two windows per floor, and while some now have modern casements, several retain original glazing bars. Nos 4, 5 and 6 have architraves to the ground floor windows. Doorways are distinguished by small bracketed pediments displaying the house number; many doors retain reeded lower panels. No 4, known as Albion Villa, features a good arched doorway with open ornamentation on consoles, a traceried fanlight above the doorway, and a door with raised and fielded shaped panels. No 7 has a modern porch. Flat hoods are present over the side windows of Nos 11 and 12. The properties have garden forecourts enclosed by low stone walls with plain stone gate piers. Attached to No 14 is a contemporary three-storey warehouse, with blocked windows. One gable-end window retains a segment head and a flat stone mullion.
