Description
Number 1 Wesley Slope is a Gothic-style building dating from around 1863, designed by architect W. J. Willcox, as noted in "The Builder." It stands two storeys tall with an attic and features an asymmetrical elevation. The structure is built of rubble with ashlar dressings and quoins, topped with a tiled roof. The building has two bays, with a gable on the left side that includes an angled bay on the ground floor. The windows are paired sashes with simplified shaped surrounds and mullions. To the right of the off-centre pointed doorway, there are two pointed windows separated by a squat colonette. The first-floor gable window is arched and subdivided with an oculus, and the over-arch displays tumbled work. This building is part of the Wesleyan Chapel school development.
