Description
Sedgemoor House, previously listed as The Old Vicarage, is a former vicarage now used as a house, dating from around 1820. It features a coursed and squared rubble plinth with colourwashed stucco, deep eaves with a small concave-moulded cornice, brick stacks, and a hipped slate roof. The building is square in plan with a lean-to service range at the rear. It has two storeys and the main entrance front faces south, consisting of three bays with the central bay projecting. The large sash windows have slender glazing bars. The central entrance has three-quarter glazed double doors with shutters, set back behind a segmental arched opening framed by ornamental trellis-work. Inside, there are original features, including a notable staircase. The house is largely surrounded and obscured by a modern housing development.
