Description
The Prankerd Chest Tomb is located in the churchyard, 9 metres south-southeast of the south door of the Church of St John Evangelist. This chest tomb dates from the early 18th century and is made of Ham stone. It features a moulded base and plain pilasters, with plain single panels on each face set within ovolo mould frames. The heavy flat top is adorned with cyma recta mould coving. The tomb commemorates Martia, the daughter of John Prankerd, who died in the 17th century, along with other members of the Prankerd family.
