Description

The base of a medieval cross, likely from the 13th century, is located on Bathwell Lane in Milborne Port. It is made of ham stone and features a modern base, probably from the 19th century, consisting of two circular steps. The lower step has a diameter of about 3 meters and is 500 millimeters high, while the upper step measures approximately 2 meters across and is 200 millimeters high. The square cross base is about 700 millimeters wide and 400 millimeters high, with the upper bed chamfered to an octagon and adorned with concave broaches. The cross was relocated in 1959, as noted on an attached metal plate.
