PITCOMBE CP STRUTTERS HILL Milestone on A359 at NGR ST 67453315

Milestone. Probably late C18. Doulting stone pillar, cast iron plaque. Pillar about 400 mm wide, 200 mm thick and about 800 mm high; rectangular plaque about 250 mm wide and 350 mm high reads: BRUTON 1, in raised Roman letters. This road was maintained by the Bruton Turnpike Trust from 1756.
