Description

Monk's Cottage is a house dating from around 1600. It is constructed of coursed and squared rubble with some freestone banding, topped with a double-Roman tiled roof featuring coped verges and a tall brick ridge stack. The building has a through-passage plan and is a single storey with an attic, comprising four bays. On the ground floor, there are three three-light stone-mullioned windows with stopped labels, while the attic features two-light 20th-century casements set in gabled half-dormers. The door opening is located in the second bay and consists of a 20th-century reproduction ribbed and studded door. To the left of the door, there is a small four-pane casement window.
