Description
Yeoman's Cottage is a cottage located at the end of a row in Monkton Farleigh, dating from the 17th century with alterations made in the 18th century. The building is constructed of coursed rubble stone and features an artificial stone slate roof with stone stacks and a coped verge on the left side. It is two stories high and has two windows. The entrance consists of a four-panelled door set in a chamfered stone surround, accompanied by a flat stone hood positioned to the right of the center. On either side of the door, there are two-light chamfered mullioned casements. The first floor also has two 2-light mullioned casements. The left side of the cottage reveals a blocked Tudor-arched opening on the first floor, and there is evidence of an earlier, steeper roof visible in the masonry. At the rear, there is a 20th-century two-storey wing.
