Description

Rose Cottage is a two-storey cottage built around 1800, located in a row of similar buildings in Monkton Farleigh. The front is made of limestone ashlar, and it features a stone slate roof with coped verges and stone stacks. The cottage has two windows on the front facade. The central entrance consists of a six-panelled door set within a beaded architrave, topped by a flat stone hood supported by brackets. On either side of the door are 16-pane sash windows. The first floor also has two 16-pane sash windows. At the rear, there is a lean-to extension that was raised to two storeys in the 20th century, which includes 20th-century casement windows.
