Description

The farm buildings located about 250 meters north of Cushuish Farmhouse date from the 17th and 18th centuries. They are constructed from red sandstone and slate random rubble and form a rectangular foldyard with a shelter shed to the east.

On the northwest corner, there is a two-bay single-storey cartshed with a partially modernized corrugated iron lean-to roof. A 20th-century Dutch barn stands on the foundations of an earlier barn, featuring a steeply pitched corrugated iron roof and coped verges to the east. This barn is two storeys high with three bays, central doors on both the north and south fronts, and two openings on the first floor of the south front, including a side-hung door.

The shelter shed has a slate roof and is a single storey with six bays, supported by wooden piers set on rounded stones. A stone trough runs the width of this building, with entrances at both the north and south ends. The granary is two storeys high and open at the north end, where the ceiling has collapsed, and it features a two-light mullioned window. The east front has first-floor pigeon holes on the west wall, with a byre set at right angles to it. The byre is a single storey with eight bays, a double Roman tile roof, three doorway openings, and five unglazed window openings, with a cartshed located in the end bay on the south front.
