Description
Raswell House is a farmhouse, now a house, dating from the 16th century with later alterations, including changes made in the 19th century. The building is rendered and colourwashed with a thatched roof and rubble ridge stacks topped with brick caps. It has a cross-passage plan and stands two storeys tall with five bays. The windows include one, two, and three-light casements with glazing bars, except for the three on the left, which have leaded lights. The second bay features a sash window with a chamfered wooden lintel, while two earlier windows on the right side of the first floor have chamfered wooden mullions. The first-floor windows are positioned directly under the eaves. There is a gabled thatched porch with an inner doorway framed in a pegged wooden surround, featuring a reused ribbed door. A projection for a bread oven is located to the right of the front. Inside, the house has a stud and panel partition, chamfered ceiling beams, and roof trusses constructed of jointed cruck, along with other lesser features.
