Description
The Broomfield War Memorial is a war memorial erected around 1920. It is constructed of roughly-hewn granite and is located to the south of the Church of St Mary and All Saints, which is a Grade I listed building. The memorial stands on a rectangular platform and features a Celtic-style wheel cross on top of a rectangular pedestal with rounded corners. On the west face of the pedestal, there is an inscription in raised lettering that reads:
IN / HONOURED MEMORY OF THE / MEN OF THIS PARISH WHO GAVE / THEIR LIVES FOR GOD AND THEIR COUNTRY / DURING THE GREAT WAR 1914 – 1918 / (NAMES)
This inscription commemorates the six men from the parish who died during the First World War.
