Description
This is a 19th-century water pump made of cast iron, located about 10 metres south-west of No 84 on Lower Street in Merriott. It features a circular pillar with a collar, a fluted top, a fluted dome, and an acorn finial. The spout includes a bucket stay and a full handle with an end knob. The maker's name, 'Warners', is cast into the spout. The pump is positioned against the north-east gable of No 82c Lower Street, near the entrance of Tail Mill Lane. It is one of several similar pumps in the village and is included in the listing primarily for its group value in this area.
