Description

This is a hand pump located on the south side of Fulking The Street, dating from 1866. It is a cylindrical cast iron pump, approximately 3 feet 6 inches tall. The pump features a fluted and domed top with a finial, and a decorated spout engraved with "Warners London." The handle is bulbous at the end, and the upright shaft has a plaque labelled "C A Wells Engineers, Lewes." This pump is part of a series of features that make up the 1866 Water Supply System for Fulking.
