Description
The obelisk located about 70 metres south of Dillington House is a commemorative structure, likely built around 1840. It is made of Ham stone and features a stepped base, a moulded plinth, and a rectangular pedestal. The pedestal is approximately one metre high and has long faces that are slightly recessed towards the corners, which contain carvings. The obelisk itself rises another 2.5 metres and displays a coat of arms carved on its longer faces. While the exact purpose of the obelisk is unknown, it was probably intended as a landscape feature for Dillington House.
