Description
The obelisk, located approximately 570 metres south-east of Dunham Lodge, was erected in 1814 by John Drostier to commemorate peace, as noted in the inscription on its dado. It is constructed of gault brick with stone dressings. The structure features a pedestal that includes an inscription, with stone used for the angles, cup of the shaft, and surbase. Additionally, there is an oval plaque on the shaft that bears an inscription in memory of Admiral Nelson. The obelisk was formerly linked by an avenue of trees to the now-demolished Curds Hall in Fransham.
