Description
The Thatched House is a cottage that was originally a lobby entrance type farmhouse, dating from the mid-17th century. It features a rendered timber frame and a thatched roof. The building is one storey high with an attic, and it has 19th or 20th century casement windows with glazing bars, including one dormer window at the front and one at the rear. The entrance has a modern porch and is located opposite an off-centre axial stack, with a later gable-end stack also present. There is a lean-to side addition. Inside, there are ogee and nicked chamfer stops on two spinal and one transverse bridging joists, as well as on the fireplace bressumer. One queen post truss remains intact.
