Description
There are two chest tombs located in the churchyard, approximately 3 metres north of the chancel of the former Church of St Giles. The first tomb, dating from the 17th century, is made of Ham stone with a buried base. It features plain sides and flanks, and has a cyma-recta coving leading to a heavy flat top. Unfortunately, no inscriptions are readable. The second tomb, also from the early 17th century and made of Ham stone, is situated about 3 metres north-west of the chancel. Its base is also buried, with plain sides and flanks, and it has a hollow-chamfered coving that leads to a heavy flat top. No inscription is discernible on this tomb either.
