Description

The Old Rectory is a detached cottage, likely dating from the 18th century with a 19th-century crosswing. It is constructed of local stone rubble with a thatched roof. The north crosswing has steep, coped gables, while the south end has a hip roof. There are ashlar chimney stacks. The house is arranged in a 'T' shape. The north elevation is two storeys high with three bays. The ground floor features margined French windows in the outer bays, and a boarded door in a lined recess in the centre. A window has been inserted to the left of the door. The first floor has three-light, 'Y'-traceried casements; the pointed-arched heads of these windows protrude into the thatch. The west gable of the crosswing is plain, with horizontal casements on the south side and in the west flank of a long extension that runs southwards. The interior was not inspected.
