CANON STREET (east side) No 17 (Priory Close) and wall attached to left of No 17

4.6.52.

GV II One of two buildings flanking the entrance gates to the Priory (see below). Probably built early C19 and inspired by the Gothic associations of the Priory site. Two storey two window stucco front. Castellated parapet to gable with date 1827 scratched. Paired wood casements with Gothic glazing bars. Pointed entrance facing street in wall to left.

Nos 17 to 22 (consec) together with the Priory and Walls form a good group.
