Description
No 20 on Canon Street, formerly known as Priory Field House, is a three-storey building with a painted brick front, likely dating from the early 19th century. It has a hipped roof covered with old tiles and features eaves. The façade includes two windows with architrave surrounds, which have volutes under the sills. The windows are sashes set in flush frames with glazing bars, and there are window-box rails on the first floor. A triangular pediment supported by enriched console brackets is above the ground floor window. The entrance features a round-headed doorway with a panelled archivolt, a recessed traceried fanlight, and a six-panel door. Nos 17 to 22, along with the Priory and Walls, create a cohesive group in this area.
