Description

These are two cottages situated in a row on the west side of South Street in Milborne Port. Number 168 is dated 1816. The cottages are constructed of local stone rubble, with a corrugated iron roof supported by abutments, replacing what was originally a thatched roof. They have brick chimney stacks. Each cottage is two storeys high with two bays. They have casement windows with three lights, featuring leaded glass and iron-framed centre opening lights. Plain doorways are situated between the bays; number 168 has a flush door with a glazed panel, and number 169 has a boarded door with two toplights. Exposed timber lintols are positioned above all of the openings. The interior was not inspected.
