Description

The King's Head is an 18th-century inn located on the north side of High Street in Milborne Port. The building is constructed of local stone rubble that has been rendered, featuring rusticated ashlar corner pilasters. It has a Welsh slate roof with plain gables and brick chimney stacks at both ends and in the middle. The inn is two storeys high and consists of five bays.

The windows include 16-pane sash windows on the ground floor and 12-pane sashes on the upper floor, with the window in the third bay having thick glazing bars. The fifth bay features a two-storey angled bay window, which has 12+16+12 pane sashes below and 9+12+9 above, topped with a shallow wood cornice and a lead flat roof. In the third bay, there is a six-panel door set in a reeded panelled recess, which is sheltered by an open pediment supported by timber brackets. A single-storey 20th-century lean-to has been added against the west gable. The interior of the building has been modified.
