Description

No. 164 South Street is a corner house that now serves as a doctor's surgery. It likely dates from the 18th century and is constructed of local stone rubble. The building features a plain clay tile roof with simple verges and is hipped at the angle, topped by a brick chimney stack. It stands two storeys high and has a two-bay main facade facing South Street. The facade includes two-light casement windows with leaded lights set in segmental arched openings. Between the bays, there is a six-panel door with glazed toplights located in a timber-lined recess, also segmental arched. The return elevation facing High Street has three bays that match the main facade, but the upper bay two does not have a window. The interior has not been seen.
