Description

No. 18 is a house dating from the early 19th century, located on the north side of Mill Street in Wincanton. The building is rendered and features ashlar lining, topped with a plain clay tile roof that has a shallow pitch and simple verges, along with brick end chimney stacks. It stands two storeys high and has four bays. The windows are plain openings with 12-pane sash windows. Between the second and third bays, there is a six-panel door set within a plain architraved semi-circular arched recess, complete with imposts. The interior has not been seen.

In front of the house, there are cast iron railings that enclose small areas. These railings have moulded uprights spaced approximately 1.2 meters apart, featuring curved braces and rods for the top and middle rails, with the top rail being toothed. The railings return into the front entrance, enhancing the overall setting of the house.
