Description

No. 19 East Street is an early 19th-century detached house. It is constructed of ham stone ashlar with a Welsh slate roof of a shallow pitch, featuring stepped coped gables and stone end chimney stacks. The house is two storeys and three bays wide, with 16-pane sash windows in plain openings. The lower bay to the right has a 6-panelled door with toolights recessed within a beaded surround. The interior has not been inspected. Approximately 3 metres north of the house is a wrought iron railing set on a low stone base wall. The railings have necked spearheads to the top and middle rails, with cast acanthus heads to the arch braced standards. There is no gate. Coped stone walls return to the house at both ends, contributing to the setting of the house and the streetscene. The railings and walls collectively have group value.
