Description
No. 41 East Street is a semi-detached cottage dating from the early 19th century. It is constructed from cut and squared ham stone, with some brickwork on the east gable. The roof is made of Welsh slate, featuring a hipped west gable that nearly reaches a pointed brick chimney stack on the east gable. The cottage has two storeys and a single bay. On the upper floor, there is a small-pane margined 2-light casement window, and below it is a 20-pane sash window. To the right, there is a Regency-style 6-flush panel door set in a plain recess. There is a 20th-century lean-to extension on the west gable. The house on the east gable is set lower and positioned behind, and it is not of the same construction or special interest. This property is included primarily for its group value.
