Description

This is an 18th-century house in a row, located on The Green in Martock. The house is constructed of Ham stone ashlar, with a plain clay tile roof and stone slate base courses between stepped coped gables. It has brick end chimney stacks. The house is two storeys high and originally had two bays. It features mullioned windows with three lights, each with beaded architraves. A four-panel, part-glazed door is set within a beaded surround, in the centre bay. A single-storey garage and workshop, likely dating to the 19th century, is attached to the east gable and has a double Roman clay tile roof set lower. The garage doors are timber-boarded and include sidelights. The interior of the house has not been inspected.

Approximately three metres south of the house stands a low stone wall with railings attached. The railings have arrowheads on the top and middle rails, and cast finials on the standards, with returns to the house. A timber gate is positioned opposite the front door. These railings, along with the setting of The Green, contribute to the character of the property.
