Description

No. 7 North Street is an 18th-century shop with a house, the facade of which was remodelled in the late 19th century. The building is constructed of ham stone ashlar with a hipped Welsh slate roof and a brick chimney stack. It is two storeys high and has three bays. The front includes a plinth and eaves course. The upper floor has four-pane sash windows in plain openings, while the ground floor features three-light shop windows in the outer bays, along with a fully glazed central door set within a stone architrave.

The south-facing elevation, which looks onto The Green, has a blocked doorway in the lower bay of the left-hand side, featuring a beaded surround and a pair of carved stone mock three-panel doors. Bays two and three on the upper floor have hollow-chamfered mullioned windows with horizontal bar inserts. The lower part of bay two has a doorway with a beaded surround and a raised head. A blind window in a beaded surround is found in the lower part of bay three. Further hollow-chamfered mullioned windows are located on the north elevation.

The interior of the building has not been inspected. The building is listed primarily for its group value within both North Street and The Green.
