Description

No. 8 Fore Street is a shop with a dwelling, dating from the late 18th century to early 19th century. The building is constructed of stucco with painted stone cills and stepped voussoirs on the upper floors. It has a parapeted roof that is not visible, with brick stacks at the gable ends. The plan is double-depth, and the building rises three storeys with a three-window range. The second floor features crossed tie-bars between 20th-century horned 3/6-pane sash windows, while the first floor has similar 6/6-pane sashes. The shop front is from the 20th century. The interior has not been inspected. This building is included for its group value.
