Description

No 56A on Goose Street is a shop that dates back to 1698, with alterations made in the late 18th century. The building is rendered and has a double Roman tile roof. It stands two storeys high and features two bays with sash windows that have glazing bars on the first floor. The ground floor has a double shop front and an entrance, supported by reeded pilasters and topped with a moulded dentil cornice. Each shop window consists of nine panes, and there is a central door that is three-quarters glazed, with marginal lights and a reeded panel at the base. There is also a similar 12-pane shop window on the left return. A date stone with raised lettering reading "1698 T.R.E." is located at the center of the first floor.
