Description
Dayton House is a 17th-century house that was significantly altered in the early 19th century. It has a rendered façade with a dentil course along the eaves, and a half-hipped mansard roof covered in pantiles, with two box dormers. The front is in a classical style. The house is two storeys and an attic, with a 1:2 bay arrangement. It features sash windows with glazing bars set within slightly raised painted stone surrounds; the windows on the left-hand side are paired, separated by a stone mullion. A door opening is on the left, above which is a transom light with decorative glazing bars, and a 20th-century six-panelled door. A short section of rubble wall to the right contains quoins from a former adjacent building.
