Description
Tatham is a house dating from the early 19th century, likely involving the refronting and enlargement of an earlier dwelling. The exterior is roughcast over rubble, featuring pilaster quoin strips and a pedimented gable above the right bay of the entrance front. The house has slate roofs with overhanging eaves and brick stacks. It is two storeys high with an entrance front that has three bays, each fitted with 12-pane sash windows. The central gabled, slate-roofed garden front has two bays, with 12-pane sash windows on the first floor and a mid-19th century pair of flat-roofed square bays on the ground floor, which are fully glazed with tripartite sash windows and connected by a steel joist. At the rear, there is a service wing, which may be part of the earlier dwelling. It is reputed that the house was built as a home and surgery for a doctor.
