Description
This structure consists of a wall, gate piers, and gates located approximately 400 metres north of Welburn Hall, built in 1895 by Walter Brierley for Mr. J. Shaw. The wall is made of coursed limestone, while the gate piers are crafted from ashlar limestone. The gate piers are square in shape and stand about 3 metres high on a low plinth. They feature shaped, recessed panelled sides, a moulded cornice, and a ball finial at the top. On either side of the gate piers, there is a 30-centimetre wall attached by battered buttresses that have gabled tops. The wall on the left includes a stile with cantilevered steps. The gates are designed in a Victorian Gothic style.
