Description
Rose Cottage is a house dating from the late 17th century, which has been raised and extended later. It features cruck framing with coursed, squared limestone and a brick outshut, topped with a pantile roof and brick stacks, one of which has been rebuilt. The layout consists of a two-cell, direct-entry plan with opposed doors and a rear outshut added. The building is two storeys high with a symmetrical two-window front. The central entrance has a wedged and battened door beneath a gabled porch. The windows are three-light horizontal sliding sashes with square leaded lights, and the ground floor openings have thin timber lintels. There are end stacks on either side. Inside, the ground floor room to the left features a wedge-shaped cupboard next to the fireplace, which has a door made of two fielded panels.
