Description
This is a milepost located 100 yards southwest of Ornhams Grange, dating from the mid-19th century. It is made of stone and features an attached iron plate. The milepost has a round arched shape, and the metal plate includes a protruding triangular lower section. It is painted white, with raised letters indicating distances: on the flat face, it reads "FERRYBRIDGE AND BOROUGHBRIDGE ROAD BOROUGHBRIDGE"; on the north face, it lists "WETHERBY 10 MILES, ABERFORD 17½ MILES, FERRYBRIDGE 27 MILES"; and on the south face, it states "BOROUGHBRIDGE 2 MILES."
