Description
Ornhams Hall is a large house, now functioning as a conference centre, built in 1835 by J B Papworth. The building is constructed of stucco and features a cornice, a first-floor band, and a plinth. It has a double-span roof made of Lakeland slate and end stone stacks. The structure is two storeys high with two bays. A projecting ashlar porch with consoles leads to stone steps and a partly glazed door with a fanlight. The windows are tripartite sash windows with glazing bars set in segmental arched recesses, which are divided by thin pilasters. On the first floor, there are sashes with glazing bars framed by stucco architraves. The north facade includes a two-storey canted bay. The interior boasts contemporary cornices and other plaster enrichments. To the right, there is a lower office wing made of brick with a stucco band, featuring a Welsh slate hipped roof and sash windows with glazing bars.
