Description
Stocks House is likely a former barn that has been converted into a dwelling. It dates from the late 17th or 18th century and has undergone some alterations. The building is constructed of reddish-brown brick, featuring a small brick plinth and cogged eaves. The roof is swept and has been renewed with modern pantiles, while an old brick chimney is positioned at the ridge. There is a modern flat dormer on the roof. The house has one tall storey and an attic, with five irregular bays. Above the existing modern casement windows with glazing bars, there are old wooden lintels that were originally for wagon doors. Additionally, there is a brick canted bay with a hipped tiled roof. Stocks House has group value with The Old Court House and the rest of The Square. Inside, the building features chamfered beams.
