Description
The property at 16, Beckside, is a house built in 1672. It is constructed of rubble with a stone slate roof and is two stories high. The house originally comprised two rooms facing the front. The doorway is located off-centre and features a segmental head within a chamfered surround. A datestone bearing the initials "AR" and the date "1672" is present. The ground floor windows originally had double-chamfered stone mullions of six lights and five lights, though the central mullion on the six-light window is missing. Later subdivision of the house created additional openings. Above, there are two similar windows with five lights. A cross-wing extends from the rear of the building, and there are two chimneys.
