Description
Aire View Farmhouse is a house built in 1672. It is constructed of coursed rubble with a stone slate roof and stone ridge. The building is a single range of two storeys, and it may have originally featured a cross-passage. The main facade displays large squared quoins.
On the ground floor, there are five windows, each with double chamfered surrounds, but they lack mullions and some stonework has been recently renewed. These windows were formerly arranged as 3, 2, 1, 4, and 3 lights. There is a doorway with altered lambs. The first floor has similar windows arranged as 3, 2, 2, and 3 lights, with "ICM 1672" carved above them. All windows now have modern lattice casements. The house features two chimneys.
In the right-hand gable wall, there is one double chamfered stone mullion window with two lights. At the rear, an outshut contains another similar window, and in the wall opposite the front door, there is a chamfered surround that now connects two windows vertically. The interior of the farmhouse has been largely altered, and an inscription that was recorded in the old listing has been removed. The roof features a heavy tie beam with angle struts.
